Professional Profile
Kirk is a dedicated, committed, and deeply passionate community activist and organizer. He currently serves as the District Director of Senate District 28, Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas office. Senate District 28 represents roughly 985,000 constituents and the Senator is dedicated to achieving and prioritizing equity and job creation. Before that, he had an extensive career as the Director of Civic Engagement for Community Coalition. He has led over 25 campaigns over his career, contacting over 200,000 Black and Latino voters in South Los Angeles. Kirk has also led teams of community members to advocate for legislative change from Los Angeles to Sacramento. He has also led multiracial, county-wide alliances to advocate for Hard to Count communities (HTC) to be enumerated in the Census as well as participate in the creation of Fair and Equitable Redistricting boundaries. Kirk has trained over 450 outreach workers and volunteers on how to phone bank, canvass, facilitate, publicly speak, and advocate for change on behalf of the interest of their community. This extensive career and expertise led him to expand his reach by creating K.S Operations, a political consulting firm that specializes in campaign outreach.
Other notable credits are that he is a funding board member for the Liberty Hill Foundation/ Bold Vision, an alum of the African- American Board Leadership Institute, class #22 (AABLI) and former Board Secretary of the Black Los Angeles Young Democrats (BLAYD). Kirk takes great appreciation in volunteering his services to help others grow. Kirk is deeply convicted by his work and takes great passion in empowering his community to realize the power they possess as voters.
